When she was just 10 years old, she joined India's fight for freedom. She sang patriotic songs at many meetings. This helped inspire people.
At 19, she remarried Kondapalli Seetaramaiah. At that time, society did not always accept widows remarrying. After her marriage, she lived in Jonnapadu for some years. She earned money by writing stories and performing on the radio. Even with little money, she regularly sent funds to the party.
After finishing her studies, she worked as a matron at a college in Kakinada. She also started taking part in writing events. Later, she worked in different colleges across the state.
Koteswaramma had two children, a daughter named Karuna and a son named Chandrasekhar. Sadly, both of her children passed away.
