Kristina Edmundovna Orbakaitė (Russian: Кристина Эдмундовна Орбакайте) is a famous Russian-Lithuanian singer and actress. She was born on May 25, 1971. Her mother is the well-known Russian pop star Alla Pugacheva. Her father is Mykolas Orbakas, a circus performer from Lithuania.

Kristina's Early Life and Career
Kristina Orbakaite was born in Moscow, a big city in Russia. She spent her childhood living in two different places. She split her time between Šventoji, Lithuania, where her grandparents on her father's side lived, and Moscow, where her grandparents on her mother's side lived.
Becoming a Child Star
When Kristina was just 7 years old, she appeared on a Soviet children's TV show. It was called "Veseliye Notki," which means Happy Musical Notes. She sang a song called "Solnyshko Smeyotsya" (The Sun Laughs).
In 1982, she got a big acting role. She played Lena Bessoltseva in the movie Scarecrow. This film was based on a play by Vladimir Zheleznikov. The movie came out in 1984 and was a huge success. It was popular in Russia and in other countries too. This movie helped Kristina become a child star.
Success in Music and Theater
After finding success in movies and music, Kristina also started acting in plays. In 1995, she played Helen Keller in a play called The Miracle Worker. This play was shown at the Moscow Art Theatre. She even won an award for being the best female theater performer from the Russian Ministry of Culture.
In 1996, Kristina went on a special family music tour in the United States. She toured with her mother, Alla Pugacheva, and her mother's husband, singer Philipp Kirkorov. The tour was called "Zvezdnoye Leto," meaning "Starry Summer." During this tour, Kristina performed for the first time at Carnegie Hall in New York City. This is a very famous place to perform.
Awards and Albums
In 2000, Kristina Orbakaite won a World Music Awards in Monte Carlo. She was recognized as the best-selling Russian singer. Later that year, she released her fourth music album, which was called May.
She continued to release many albums. In 2002, her fifth album, Ver v chudesa (Believe in Miracles), came out. She also appeared in a TV show called Moscow Saga. In 2003, she released her sixth album, Pereletnaya ptitsa (Wandering Bird). Her seventh album, My Life, was released in 2005.
On January 17, 2004, Kristina met her future husband, Mikhail Zemtsov, in Miami. They got married in a private ceremony on March 9, 2005, in Miami Beach.
Later Career and Tours
In 2006, Kristina acted in a comedy movie called Lyubov-morkov (Love-carrot). She starred alongside Gosha Kutsenko. In 2013, she received a special title from the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. She was named a Merited Artist of the Russian Federation.
In December 2016, Kristina started her "Insomnia" world tour. She performed two shows at the State Kremlin Palace. In 2017, she took her tour to many countries. These included Russia, Israel, France, Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, Germany, and all the Baltic states.
In 2022, Kristina spoke out against the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Kristina's Family Life
Kristina Orbakaite is married to Mikhail Zemtsov, who is a Russian-American businessman. They have a daughter together, who was born on March 30, 2012. Kristina also has two sons from her earlier relationships. Her son from singer Vladimir Presnyakov Jr. was born in 1991. Her son from businessman Ruslan Baisarov was born in 1998. Kristina currently lives in the United States.
Kristina has Lithuanian citizenship. She received it in February 2002 because her grandparents were Lithuanian citizens.
