Kristina Edmundovna Orbakaitė (born May 25, 1971) is a famous singer and actress from Russia and Lithuania. Her mom is the well-known Russian pop star Alla Pugacheva, and her dad is Mykolas Orbakas, a circus performer from Lithuania.

Kristina's Early Life and Career

Kristina Orbakaite was born in Moscow. She spent her childhood living between Šventoji, Lithuania, where her dad's parents lived, and Moscow, where her mom's parents lived.

Starting Out in Music and Film

When she was just 7 years old, Kristina appeared on a Soviet children's TV show called "Veseliye Notki" (which means Happy Musical Notes). She sang a song called "Solnyshko Smeyotsya" (The Sun Laughs).

In 1982, she got a big role in a movie called Scarecrow. She played the main character, Lena Bessoltseva. The movie came out in 1984 and was a huge success, not just in Russia but around the world. This made Kristina a child star!

Success in Theater

After doing well in movies and music, Kristina decided to try acting on stage. In 1995, she played Helen Keller in a play called The Miracle Worker at the Moscow Art Theatre. She even won an award from the Russian Ministry of Culture for being the best female theater performer.

Family Tours and Big Stages

In 1996, Kristina went on a family music tour in the United States. She performed with her mom, Alla Pugacheva, and her mom's husband, Philipp Kirkorov. The tour was called "Zvezdnoye Leto" (Starry Summer). During this tour, Kristina performed for the very first time at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Winning Awards and Releasing Albums

In 2000, Kristina won a World Music Awards in Monte Carlo. This award recognized her as the best-selling Russian singer. Later that year, she released her fourth music album, called May.

She continued to release many albums, including Ver v chudesa (Believe in Miracles) in 2002 and Pereletnaya ptitsa (Wandering Bird) in 2003. In 2005, she released her seventh album, My Life.

Marriage and More Acting

On January 17, 2004, Kristina met her husband, Mikhail Zemtsov, in Miami. They got married in a small ceremony on March 9, 2005, in Miami Beach.

In 2006, Kristina starred in a comedy movie called Lyubov-morkov (Love-carrot). In 2013, she received a special title, Merited Artist of the Russian Federation, from the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

World Tours

In December 2016, Kristina started her "Insomnia" world tour. She performed two big shows at the State Kremlin Palace. In 2017, she took her tour to many countries, including Russia, Israel, France, and the United Kingdom.

In 2022, Kristina spoke out against the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Kristina's Family Life

Kristina is currently married to Mikhail Zemtsov, who is a businessman. They have a daughter together, who was born on March 30, 2012.

Kristina also has two sons from her earlier marriages. Her first son was born in 1991, and her second son was born in 1998. She lives in the United States.

Lithuanian Citizenship

In February 2002, Kristina was given Lithuanian citizenship. She received it because her grandparents were Lithuanian citizens.
