Kunio Nagayama (永山 邦夫, Nagayama Kunio, born 16 September 1970) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder, which means he helped both defend his team's goal and attack the opponent's goal.

Kunio Nagayama's Football Journey
Kunio Nagayama was born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, on September 16, 1970. He started his football career with the youth team of Nissan Motors. In 1989, he officially joined the main team. This club later changed its name to Yokohama Marinos and then Yokohama F. Marinos.
Early Success and Trophies
Right from his first season in 1989, Kunio Nagayama played in many important matches. He often played as a right-side midfielder or a right-side defender. In that amazing year, his club won three major titles in Japan: the Japan Soccer League, the JSL Cup, and the Emperor's Cup.
The team's success continued into the early 1990s. They won the 1990 JSL Cup and the Emperor's Cup in both 1991 and 1992. Not only did they do well in Japan, but they also won the 1991–92 Asian Cup Winners' Cup and the 1992–93 Asian Cup Winners' Cup in Asia.
Later Career and Challenges
In the late 1990s, Kunio Nagayama's team, Yokohama Marinos, won the J1 League championship in 1995. However, he faced some challenges during this time. He was injured and could not play in any matches in 1995 or 1998.
As the 2000s began, he returned to playing many games. His team continued to achieve success, winning the 2001 J.League Cup in 2001. In his final season in 2003, his playing time became less frequent. Even so, the club had another great year, winning the J1 League championship. Kunio Nagayama retired from professional football at the end of the 2003 season.
