Kęstutis studied art for many years. From 1962 to 1972, he went to M.K. Ciurlionis Art School. There, he learned about choir conducting. Later, from 1972 to 1981, he studied graphic design. This was at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vilnius.

Since 1984, Kęstutis has been creating children's books. He loves to use watercolors for his drawings. His books are very popular around the world. They have been translated into 22 different languages!
