LIFE Church UK is a large Christian church based in Bradford, England. It was once known as the Abundant Life Church. This church is a Christian community that focuses on faith and worship.

The Story of LIFE Church

LIFE Church began in 1976. It was started by Bryn Jones, a leader in a Christian movement called Charismatic Restoration. This movement aimed to bring new life and spiritual gifts back into churches.

The church was formed by joining three smaller churches in Bradford. One was a charismatic group from Bolton Woods Gospel Hall. Another was an independent charismatic church, mostly former Baptists. The third was the New Covenant Church.

In its early days, the church met in a building called the Anglican Church House. Because of this, people in the area called it "Church House." Later, it became known as Abundant Life Church for many years. In 2012, the name was shortened to LIFE Church. This change marked a new period with new leaders and a new direction for the church.

Since the year 2000, LIFE Church has become more widely known. They broadcast their services and programmes on radio and television. You can find their shows on channels like God TV and United Christian Broadcasters. They also have a weekly show on Cross Rhythms radio. Many of their TV and radio programmes are available as podcasts and on YouTube.

The church also holds special conferences and events every year. Christians from all over the UK and other countries attend these gatherings.

Church Locations and Spaces

The main location for LIFE Church is in Bradford, West Yorkshire. This Bradford campus has a coffee shop. It serves coffee from local roasters called North Star Coffee. There is also a skatepark connected to the youth building. This gives young people a fun place to gather.

The church also has a training program called Life10. This program is based at their Bradford location in England.

Church Leaders

Paul Scanlon was the senior pastor of the church until 2012. He had been part of the leadership team with his wife Glenda since 1980. In 1997, he led the church through a big change. This period was called 'Crossing Over,' when the church left Covenant Ministries.

In 2012, Paul and Glenda’s oldest daughter, Charlotte Gambill, and her husband, Steve Gambill, became the lead pastors. They led the church together for several years.

In 2021, the church had pastors leading different campuses. David and Abigail Niblock were in Leeds. Maciek and Iga Liziniewicz were in Warsaw, Poland. Jock and Shirley James were in Bradford. Liam and Natalie Gordon were in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

In 2022, some changes happened. The Leeds campus became an independent church. It is now known as “North^Church.” Also in May 2022, Liam and Natalie Gordon stepped down as pastors. The Belfast campus then closed. In 2023, LIFE Church Warsaw also became an independent church. It is now called 'Warsaw LIFE'.

As of April 2022, Pastors Steve and Charlotte Gambill passed on the leadership of LIFE Church Bradford. Jonathan 'Jock' and Shirley James are now the lead pastors there.

Church Music

LIFE Church is well-known for its music. They have produced many albums and singles. Most of these were recorded live during their services. They also share music from church services and conferences online.

Their early music was distributed by Kingsway Communications. Later albums were released through Integrity Music. Their live album, Dance Again, was released in May 2014. It even reached the top 40 on the UK Albums Chart.
