LaKeshia N. Myers (born May 21, 1984) is an American educator and Democratic politician from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She served three terms as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 12th Assembly district from 2019 to 2025.

LaKeshia Myers was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from Rufus King High School in 2002. She continued her education at Alcorn State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006. While there, she was the National Membership Director for the College Democrats of America.

Later, she earned a Master of Education from Strayer University in 2009. She then received a Doctor of Education from Argosy University in 2016.

Her Career Before Politics

Before becoming a politician, LaKeshia Myers had several important jobs. She worked as the Director of Education for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. She also trained teachers at Milwaukee Public Schools. Besides her work in education, she owned a small business. She also worked as a clerk for the United States House of Representatives. She was a legislative aide for Wisconsin State Senator Lena Taylor. She is also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

Serving in the Wisconsin State Assembly

In 2018, LaKeshia Myers decided to run for the Wisconsin State Assembly. She wanted to improve Wisconsin's education system. She also believed in helping people avoid returning to prison for small rule violations. Myers also wanted to help the economy in her district grow.

She won the primary election against the long-serving politician Fred Kessler. She then won the general election with many votes. This made her the representative for the 12th Assembly district. She served three terms, from 2019 to 2025.

Later Political Campaigns

After her time in the State Assembly, LaKeshia Myers ran for the Wisconsin Senate. This happened after the previous senator, Lena Taylor, became a judge. Myers ran in both a special election and a general election in 2024. However, she lost both primary elections to Dora Drake.
