La Gata is actually a new version of older stories. It's based on a Venezuelan telenovela from 1968 also called La Gata. It also takes ideas from another Mexican telenovela, Rosa Salvaje, made in 1987.
The main characters are played by Maite Perroni and Daniel Arenas. They are the heroes of the story. Erika Buenfil plays an important adult role. The bad guys, or "antagonists," are played by Jorge Poza, Mónika Sánchez, and Laura Zapata.
