La Reina Del Mariachi also known as Katherine Glen Salguero (born 17 October), is an American singer and songwriter, entertainment reporter, TV host, and poet. She is known for her singing abilities in the Mariachi genre. She received the Artist Of The Year award in The Best of 2014 and also received special recognition from United States Congress as Outstanding Singer of Ranchera/ Mariachi.

She has released two albums "La Reina Del Mariachi Musial artist' and "Como Una Paloma."

Early life

Katherine Glen was born on 17 October in New York to a Barranquilla Columbian couple, Willian and Luz Glen. She was passionate about singing and music and started performing at local competitions at a very young age.She is married to Claudio Salguero and has two kids, Klauss Salguero and Jake Salguero.

Career

Katherine Glen initially started her career by participating in beauty pageants, including Reina Centro Civico Colombiano and Miss Colombia USA. Due to her interest in music, she started performing at festivals, including 5 De Mayo in Queens, New York. She earned the title of La Reina Del Mariachi (The Mariachi Queen) at an event where she was the only Colombian pageant finalist and Mariachi Singer. She performed in front of 25,000 people at Madison Square Garden during the "Paz para Colombia" concert. She has played for the legendary "Mariachi Vargas." She also performed at the "La Prensa Awards" and the 26^th Coronation of Queen 2015-16 at the Colombian Civic Center. She was also a contestant at the "Festival Mariachi Desde Disney" talent competition, which was premiered through Univision Networks. The singer has also published more than 10 poetry books.

Katherine Glen has released two albums, "La Reina Del Mariachi Musial artist' and "Como Una Paloma." Her first album has six tracks, La Reina Del Mariachi, How Much I Miss You, Baby Kisses, You Played with My Love, I Want to Know" and, Like a Dove.
