Lake Anoka is a natural lake located just south of the city of Avon Park, Florida. It is known for its almost perfectly round shape. This lake is part of Highlands County, Florida.
Even though it is not very big, Lake Anoka is quite deep. It covers about 48 acres, which is roughly the size of 36 football fields. At its deepest point, the lake goes down 59 feet.
What is Lake Anoka Like?
Lake Anoka is a natural body of water. It has a unique, nearly circular shape. The western side of the lake was changed a bit. This was done to make space for US 27, a major highway, to pass through the area.
Surrounding Areas
The lake is surrounded by different types of land. On its eastern side, you will find a large citrus orchard. This is where citrus fruits like oranges or grapefruits are grown.
On the western side, the lake is bordered by US 27. This road helps people travel through Florida. There are also several houses located on both the northern and southern sides of the lake.
Activities at the Lake
Lake Anoka is a place where you can enjoy nature. While there is no public access for boating on this lake, you can still go fishing. Fishing is allowed in the area near US 27. It's a great spot to relax and try to catch some fish.
