Lake Lelia is a beautiful natural fresh water lake located in Highlands County, Florida. You can find it on the south side of Avon Park, Florida. Part of the lake, specifically its northeast side, is actually inside the city limits of Avon Park.

Discover Lake Lelia's Size and Location
Lake Lelia stretches out longer from east to west. It is about 0.5 miles (0.80 km) long. From north to south, the lake is usually around 0.25 miles (0.40 km) wide. The total surface area of Lake Lelia is about 161.97-acre (655,500 m2). This information comes from the Florida Atlas of Lakes.
What's Around Lake Lelia?
The southern edge of Lake Lelia is next to South Florida State College. While some houses are built along the shore, much of the lake is surrounded by peaceful woods and citrus trees. On the northeast side, you can see two sets of railroad tracks close to the water.

There are a few ways to enjoy Lake Lelia.
Exploring the Pier
On the south side of the lake, a pier reaches out from the college's Citrus Center. Visitors are welcome to walk along part of this pier. However, please remember that fishing is not allowed from this pier.
Boating and Fishing
If you want to go boating, there is a public boat ramp. You can find it off Martin Road on the west side of the lake. Lake Lelia is a great place for fishing! Just remember that swimming is not allowed in the lake.
