Lake Madison is found in the southeastern part of Lake County. The community surrounds the beautiful Lake Madison.

A road called South Dakota Highway 34 runs along the northern edge of the community. This highway goes west into Madison. If you travel east on Highway 34, you will reach Interstate 29 after about 13 miles (21 kilometers).
