What Makes Lake Río Cuarto Special?
Lake Río Cuarto is a type of maar lake. This means it formed when hot magma met groundwater, causing a big explosion. This explosion created a wide, shallow crater that later filled with water. The lake has a shape that is almost perfectly round. Even though it formed from a volcano, there is no more volcanic activity happening there today. It's a calm and peaceful place now.
