Lake Rachael is a beautiful nine-acre freshwater lake located in Highlands County, Florida. It's a special kind of lake because it was made by people, not by nature! This type of lake is called a manmade lake.
About Lake Rachael
Lake Rachael was created by digging out an area that used to be a muddy, swampy spot. Even though it was once a natural area, people shaped it into the lake we see today.
Where is Lake Rachael?
This circular lake is mostly surrounded by houses. You can find Lake Drive running around these homes on most sides of the lake. On its west side, Western Boulevard runs north to south, right next to the lake. Schumacher Road is also nearby, just two blocks north. The area around Lake Rachael is mostly quiet neighborhoods where people live.
Visiting Lake Rachael
Even though Lake Rachael has seven private boat docks, it's not a public place for everyone to visit. This means there is no public access to the water. So, activities like boating, fishing, or swimming are not allowed for the general public. It's mainly for the people who live right next to it.
