Larry Welsh, known by his stage name Lakim Shabazz, is an American rapper. He was one of the first members of the Flavor Unit crew, a group of hip hop artists. His stage name, Lakim Shabazz, comes from a group called the Lost Tribe of Shabazz, which is part of certain teachings.

Lakim Shabazz's Music Career
Lakim Shabazz started his music journey with Tuff City Records. He first became known when he sang on a song called "The 900 Number" by The 45 King. They worked together again on an EP (a shorter music album) titled The Red, the Black, the Green.
Debut Album and Style
In 1988, Lakim Shabazz released his first full album, Pure Righteousness. The album cover said "the 45 King presents," showing their continued teamwork. This album was quite popular and became an important record for a certain style of hip hop music from the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Lakim Shabazz released two albums with Tuff City Records. The 45 King produced these albums. Lakim's songs often shared messages about his beliefs and ideas.
