Lawrence Martyn (born March 22, 1934 – died August 7, 1994) was a British actor. He was well-known for his funny roles in movies and TV shows.
Larry Martyn was born in London, England. He even served in the military before becoming an actor. He became famous for playing Mr. Mash, the store maintenance man, in the popular BBC comedy show Are You Being Served?. He was in the first three seasons of the show.
He had to leave Are You Being Served? because he was busy with another TV series called Spring and Autumn, where he acted alongside Jimmy Jewel. Larry Martyn also appeared in many other TV shows, including On the Buses, Rising Damp, The Detectives, and Grange Hill. He also worked with the famous comedian Frankie Howerd in his BBC shows Up Pompeii! and Whoops Baghdad.

Larry Martyn took over the role of Private Walker in the radio version of Dad's Army in 1973. This happened after the original actor, James Beck, passed away. Private Walker was a character who often tried to get things illegally.
