Lasarte is a small village in the area of Vitoria, Spain. It is part of the Álava province, which is in the Basque Country. You can find Lasarte in the southwest countryside of Vitoria.

Where Lasarte Is Located
Lasarte is found in the southwest part of the Vitoria area. It's only about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) away from the main city. The village sits at the bottom of the Vitoria Mountains. It's also nestled between two parts of the Zadorra river.
Lasarte's History
Lasarte has a long history! On July 4, 1135, a bishop named Sancho of Funes gave Lasarte to Pedro, an archdeacon. This was to help support the church workers in the area.
Long ago, people grew many grapevines in this region. This is mentioned in a document from 1258. In that year, knights from Álava gave some "old" villages to King Alfonso X the Wise.
Later, on May 13, 1286, King Sancho IV of Castilla gave Lasarte to Vitoria. For many years, important meetings for the Álava region were held here. These meetings were called the "Board of Frank Infanzones of Lasarte."
Important Buildings
- Church of Our Lady of The Assumption: This church was first built a very long time ago, between the late 1100s and early 1200s. It was built in the Romanesque style. Today, only the front of the church and two entrance areas still look Romanesque. The rest of the church was rebuilt in the 1500s in the Gothic style. Inside, the ceilings have beautiful star-shaped designs and carvings.

In 2014, Lasarte had 190 people living there. This included 94 men and 96 women.
