In 1964, Lasse Mårtenson had the honor of representing Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest. This is a big international music competition. He performed a song called "Laiskotellen", which means "Idling". He did very well, finishing in 7th place and earning 9 points for his country.
Famous Compositions and Hit Songs
Lasse Mårtenson is especially remembered in Finland for composing a beautiful piano piece. It's called "Maija from the Storm Skerries". This song is known for its lovely, flowing melody.
