A last meal is a special meal given to a person who is about to be executed. This tradition happens in many places around the world. In the state of Texas, in the United States, this tradition changed in 2011. After that year, people facing execution in Texas were no longer allowed to choose a special last meal. Instead, they were given the same regular food that other people in prison eat.
