In 2000, Laura Mañá directed her first full-length movie, called ... por compasión. This film was shown at important film festivals. It was selected for the Sundance and Toronto film festivals. It also won awards at the Malaga Film Festival, including Best Film. The movie also won Best Screenplay at the Festival de Miami.
