Playing Career: Clubs
Laura del Río started her football journey in 1999 at AD Torrejón. The next year, she moved to Levante UD. While playing for Levante, she helped her team win two "doubles." This means they won both the Superliga Femenina (the main league) and the Copa de la Reina (a cup competition) in the same season.
After two seasons, Laura played for CE Sabadell. Then, she returned to Levante UD, where she stayed for four more years. During this time, she won another league title in 2008 and two more Cups.
Playing Abroad
In 2008, Laura decided to play football outside of Spain for the first time. She joined FC Indiana in the United States. She was a great scorer there, getting 33 goals in two years. She was even named to the All-League team.
In 2009, she moved to Germany to play for 1. FFC Frankfurt, a strong European team. She started as a substitute but quickly showed her skills. She scored in three games in a row after coming off the bench. Overall, she scored six goals in just ten matches in the German league.
In December 2009, Laura moved back to the United States. She signed with Boston Breakers in the WPS league. For the 2011 season, she transferred to Philadelphia Independence. Her team reached the championship play-offs, but they finished as runners-up after she missed a penalty kick in the final.
Playing in England
In 2012, Laura del Río joined the English club Bristol Academy. Under coach Mark Sampson, the team finished second in the 2013 FA WSL league. They also reached the final of the 2012–13 FA Women's Cup, but lost. In January 2015, Laura left Bristol Academy. She had scored 14 goals in 47 games for the club.
Later Career
After leaving England, Laura returned to the United States. She signed with Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League. In 2015, she played in 11 games and made two assists. However, her season ended early due to an injury. She also missed the entire 2016 season because she needed surgery on her ankle.
Laura then continued her career in Spain. She played for CD Tacón and later for Madrid CFF.
Playing Career: International
Laura del Río was a star player for Spain's national youth team. She was the top scorer in the 2000 Under-18 Euro tournament. In that competition, the Spanish team reached the final for the first time ever.

After she stopped playing football, Laura del Río became a manager. In August 2019, she became the head coach of Flat Earth FC.
