The club was part of a network of venues known as the "Chitlin' Circuit." This circuit was a group of places where Black musicians could perform during a time when many venues were segregated. Richard's Club was a popular stop for musicians traveling between New Orleans and Houston.

Miller's Zydeco Hall of Fame

In 2012, Dustin Miller and Nichole Miller bought the building and reopened it. They named it Miller's Zydeco Hall of Fame. It continued to be a place for dancing and enjoying zydeco music. Sadly, in 2017, the building was destroyed by a fire.
