LeRoy S. Zimmerman, born on December 22, 1934, is an important figure in Pennsylvania's history. He served as the Pennsylvania Attorney General. The Attorney General is like the state's chief lawyer. This person works to protect the public and make sure laws are followed.
Mr. Zimmerman was recognized for his influence in politics. In 2002 and 2003, he was named among the most influential people in Pennsylvania politics. This means he was someone who helped make important decisions. In 2010, Politics Magazine also called him one of the most influential Republicans in the state.
Later Public Service
After his time as Attorney General, LeRoy Zimmerman continued to serve the community. He became the chairman of the Hershey Trust Company. This company helps manage the Milton Hershey School, which is a special school for children in need. Mr. Zimmerman worked in this role until the end of 2011.
In 2013, the Office of Attorney General looked into the operations of the Hershey Trust Company. After a two-year review, it was found that there was no wrongdoing by the trust company. However, some changes were agreed upon to make sure the trust continued to operate in the best way possible.
