Leon Morris Hendrix, born on January 13, 1948, is an American artist, songwriter, and musician. He is well-known for his paintings. Leon also plays the guitar and has released several music albums since 2002. He is the younger brother of the famous blues rock guitarist, Jimi Hendrix.

Leon Hendrix is married and has six children. He is also a grandfather to four.
For many years, Leon worked as an expert draftsman at Boeing. This is a company that builds airplanes. More recently, Leon has focused on making a living from his music and art.

Leon formed a band called The Leon Hendrix Band. They released two albums:

- Seattle Rain earlier than that
In 2012, Leon wrote a book about his brother, Jimi Hendrix. The book is called Jimi Hendrix: A Brother's Story. He wrote it with Adam Mitchell.
Court Case About Jimi Hendrix's Estate
When Leon's father, Al Hendrix, passed away in 2002, his will gave control of the company Experience Hendrix to his adopted daughter, Janie Hendrix, and his nephew, Robert Hendrix. This company manages the rights to Jimi Hendrix's music and legacy.
Leon went to court to challenge his father's will. However, in 2004, the court decided that Leon would not receive anything from his father's will. He only received a single gold record that his father left to him.
Appearing in a Documentary
Leon Hendrix was featured in a documentary about his brother, Jimi Hendrix. This film was released in 2004 and was called Jimi Hendrix: By Those Who Knew Him Best. Other people in the documentary included musician Sammy Drain and Octavia inventor Roger Mayer.
Recent Music Projects
In 2021, Leon Hendrix released a new album titled If You Need a Friend. The main song on the album, "If You Need a Friend," was co-written with Brin Addison. This album features a mix of music styles, including psychedelic rock, funk, and blues. Seattle artist Annie O’Neill also sings on the album. Another song on the album is "Crying from them Blues."
