Leon Morris Hendrix, born on January 13, 1948, is an American artist, songwriter, and musician. He is well-known for his paintings. He also started playing the guitar in 2002. Since then, he has released several music albums. Leon is the younger brother of the famous blues rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix.

Leon Hendrix is married and has six children. He is also a grandfather to four grandchildren. For many years, Leon worked as a skilled draftsman for Boeing, a large airplane company.

In recent years, Leon has focused on his music and art. He has released albums with his band, The Leon Hendrix Band. These include Keeper of the Flame in 2006 and Seattle Rain. In 2012, Leon also wrote a book about his brother. The book is called Jimi Hendrix: A Brother's Story. He wrote it with Adam Mitchell.

Family and Legacy

After his father, Al Hendrix, passed away in 2002, there was a discussion about who would manage the company called Experience Hendrix. This company looks after the rights to Jimi Hendrix's music and legacy. A court decided in 2004 that Leon would not receive control of the company. He did receive a single gold record from his father.

Leon appeared in a documentary about his brother in 2004. The film was titled Jimi Hendrix: By Those Who Knew Him Best. Other musicians and inventors also appeared in the documentary.

His Music Albums

In 2021, Leon Hendrix released his album If You Need a Friend. The main song on the album was co-written with Brin Addison. This album features different music styles. These include psychedelic rock, funk, and blues. Another artist from Seattle, Annie O’Neill, also sings on the album. One of the songs on the album is "Crying from them Blues."

Leon also played guitar for a music single in 2014. This song was called "Under the Sky of Another Dream" by Veronica Vitale.
