Leonardo Jaramillo was a Spanish painter who lived and worked in the 1600s. He painted in a style called Mannerism. He was active in the Viceroyalty of Peru, which is now the country of Peru.
About Leonardo Jaramillo
We don't know exactly when Leonardo Jaramillo was born. It was likely in the late 1500s or early 1600s. He was probably born in Seville, Spain. He might have learned from or been inspired by other Spanish painters. These included Juan de las Roelas and Francisco Pacheco.
Between 1613 and 1615, Jaramillo moved to the Viceroyalty of Peru. This area is now the country of Peru. He taught painting to students there. Some of his students were Tomás Ortiz de Olivares, Juan de Sotomayor, and Miguel de Vargas. His most famous painting is called "The Bestowal of the Chasuble upon Saint Ildefonso." He painted it in 1636.

- Cristo de la columna (Christ of the Column), painted in 1643. It can be found in the Cathedral Basilica of St. Mary in Trujillo, Peru.
