Liberty Center is a large complex in Liberty Township, Butler County, Ohio, USA. It opened in October 2015. This special place has many shops, fun entertainment spots, and offices. It even has places where people live!
Liberty Center was built by a company called Steiner Realty. Some of the main stores and places you can find there include Dillard's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Cobb Theatres (a movie theater), and AC Hotels.
How Liberty Center Started
Liberty Center first opened its doors in October 2015. When it opened, it had over 94 different shops and restaurants. One cool spot was the Cobb Theatres CineBistro, where you could eat while watching a movie.
This big center was built on about 65 acres of land. It has a huge amount of space for shops, about 1,200,000 square feet. The first plans also included an AC Hotels and 249 apartments for people to live in.
Why This Location?
The people who built Liberty Center, Steiner & Associates, picked this spot carefully. It's located near major roads like Interstate 75 and Ohio State Route 129. They chose this area because there weren't many shopping places between the cities of Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio.
Different Shopping Areas
Liberty Center has two main parts for shopping. One part is an outdoor area, like a street with shops facing each other. This is called a lifestyle center. The other part is an enclosed, two-story mall known as The Foundry.
The two main anchor stores inside The Foundry are Dick's Sporting Goods and Dillard's. The Dillard's store at Liberty Center replaced an older one that used to be at Tri-County Mall.
Changes Over Time
In September 2018, the company that built Liberty Center, Steiner + Associates, handed over the job of managing and renting out spaces to another company called JLL. At that time, people noted that over 7 million visitors had come to the mall. Also, more than 10 percent more stores had opened there in the past year.
Some stores have changed since the center opened. For example, Gap Inc. closed its store in late 2018. But other new places opened up, like Claire's, a library, a home decor store called Burlap & Birch, and even an indoor skydiving center!
