Lina Gálvez Muñoz, born in 1969, is a Spanish historian and politician. She is a member of the European Parliament since 2019. Before that, she was a minister in the government of Andalusia, a region in Spain. She is also known for her work in feminist economics, which looks at how economics affects men and women differently.

Early Life and Education
Lina Gálvez was born on June 13, 1969, in Seville, Spain. She studied history at the University of Seville. She also studied at the University of Lyon in France.
She spent time researching at the London School of Economics and the European University Institute (EUI) in Italy. In 1998, she earned her PhD from the EUI. Her research was about how gender played a role in the tobacco factory in Seville many years ago.
Career in Academia
Lina Gálvez started her teaching career in 1998. She taught economics at the University of Reading in the UK. Later, she taught at the University of Seville and the Charles III University of Madrid in Spain.
From 2014 to 2015, she was a visiting professor at the University of Oxford. She then joined the Pablo de Olavide University (UPO) in Seville. There, she became a professor of History and Economic Institutions. From 2007 to 2012, she was in charge of postgraduate studies at UPO.
At UPO, Lina Gálvez directs a master's degree program focused on gender and equality. She also leads a research group that studies feminist ecological economics. She has written many scientific articles and opinion pieces. Her research often looks at how gender inequality affects the economy. She is also a member of Economists Without Borders.
Political Career
Role in Regional Government
In June 2018, Lina Gálvez became a minister in the Regional Government of Andalusia. She was the Minister of Knowledge, Research, and University. In this role, she was responsible for universities, research, and technology. She also worked on promoting businesses and the social economy in Andalusia.
Member of the European Parliament
In 2019, Lina Gálvez was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP). She represents Spain in the European Parliament. She is part of a political group called the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.
In the European Parliament, she is a vice-president of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. She is also a member of the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality. This committee works to ensure equal rights for women. She also helps with the Panel for the Future of Science and Technology.
Lina Gálvez is also involved in discussions with the United States. She is a member of groups that focus on artificial intelligence and digital topics.
