Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers is a fun American animated TV show from Walt Disney Television Animation. It was created by Tad Stones and Alan Zaslove. The show stars the famous Disney chipmunks, Chip 'n Dale, but in a brand new adventure setting! They lead a team of tiny heroes who solve mysteries and help others. The series first aired on The Disney Channel on March 4, 1989. An early episode, "Catteries Not Included," was shown as a special preview on August 27, 1988.
A special two-hour movie called Rescue Rangers: To The Rescue first aired on September 29, 1989. This movie showed how the Rescue Rangers team first met each other. Later, this movie was split into five regular episodes for the second season. The show then became a part of the popular The Disney Afternoon cartoon block in 1990. The very last episode aired on November 19, 1990. Reruns of the show continued to air until September 3, 1993.
In the fall of 1990, a live-action educational video called The Great Quake Hazard Hunt was made. In it, Chip and Dale, along with their friends (played by costumed characters), taught kids how to get ready for earthquakes. Another educational video, Rescue Rangers: Fire Safety Adventure, came out in the fall of 1991. In this one, the Rescue Rangers had to stop Fat Cat from causing fire dangers at a fire station and a bank.
