Chip 'n' Dale are two famous cartoon chipmunks created by The Walt Disney Company. Their names are a fun play on words, sounding like "Chippendale," which refers to a style of furniture.
These two chipmunks are easy to tell apart! Chip has a black nose and one tooth sticking out. He also has neat, short hair on his head. Dale, on the other hand, has a red nose and two teeth that show. His hair is usually a bit messy or ruffled. Chip is often seen as the more serious and reliable one. Dale is usually more relaxed and easygoing. Both of them really love to eat peanuts and apples!
Chip 'n' Dale first appeared in a cartoon called Private Pluto in 1943. After that, they starred in 23 animated short films. In these early cartoons, they often found themselves causing trouble for other Disney characters, especially Pluto the dog or Donald Duck.

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers TV Show
In 1989, Chip and Dale got their very own animated TV series called Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers. This show changed their personalities a bit. Instead of just causing mischief, they became detectives!
In the series, Chip and Dale started a detective agency. They worked with three new friends to solve mysteries and help those in need. Chip became the serious leader of the group. He wore a cool leather jacket and a fedora hat. Dale was still the goofy one, but he was also very laid-back. He wore a bright Hawaiian shirt. The show had 65 episodes and ran for three seasons.
