Pluto's Christmas Tree is a fun Mickey Mouse cartoon from 1952. In this short film, Pluto and Mickey go looking for a Christmas tree. They don't know that the tree they pick is home to two playful chipmunks, Chip n' Dale. This cartoon was the 125th short film in the Mickey Mouse series.
Even though Chip and Dale often bother Donald Duck, they have also annoyed Pluto in other cartoons. These include Private Pluto (1943), Squatter's Rights (1946), and Food for Feudin' (1950). This cartoon is one of the few Disney shorts directed by Jack Hannah that doesn't star Donald Duck, though Donald does appear briefly at the end.

The Story of Pluto's Christmas Tree
This section tells you all about what happens in the cartoon.
Finding the Christmas Tree
Mickey Mouse and Pluto are out in the forest. They are searching for the perfect Christmas tree. At the same time, Chip 'n' Dale are also in the forest. They are busy looking for acorns to store for winter.
The chipmunks spot Pluto and decide to play a trick. They throw acorns at him. Pluto chases them, but the clever chipmunks hide inside a tree. Mickey then chops down that very tree, not knowing his new tree has secret guests!
Trouble in the Tree
Back at home, Mickey and Pluto start decorating the tree. Pluto is admiring the tree when he sees a light blinking. He goes to investigate. It's Dale, playing with the Christmas lights! Dale mistakes Pluto's nose for another light and twists it. Pluto barks loudly when he sees Dale.
Dale throws down some ornaments to distract Pluto. Mickey comes over and picks up the ornaments. He accidentally hangs one on Dale, who Pluto tries to show him. But Mickey doesn't understand Pluto's barks.
More Chipmunk Mischief
Pluto then sees Dale trying to steal chestnuts. He chases Dale up to the fireplace, where there are Santa candle figures. Dale quickly grabs a hat and beard from one of the figures. He uses them as a disguise. Pluto sees the strange figure but can't tell Mickey it's Dale.
Frustrated, Pluto knocks the other Santa figures away. Only Dale is left standing. Chip, watching from the tree, sees what's happening. He rescues Dale, and they both run back to the Christmas tree.
The Big Chase
Pluto tries to follow them but gets his feet stuck in some presents. He finally breaks free and tries to climb a ladder to reach the chipmunks. As Pluto barks at them, Chip and Dale make the ladder fall. The star from the top of the tree lands right on Pluto's tail!
The chipmunks laugh, which makes Pluto very angry. He dives into the Christmas tree to get them. Mickey tries to pull Pluto out, but he gets pulled in too. The tree loses all its decorations and leaves!
A Holiday Truce
Mickey scolds Pluto for messing up the tree. But then he sees Chip and Dale with a few decorations. He finally realizes the chipmunks were causing the trouble. Pluto starts barking at them, but Mickey tells him to stop. He says it's the holidays, and they should be friendly.
Suddenly, they hear singing outside the window. Donald Duck, Goofy, and Minnie Mouse are singing "Deck the Halls." Mickey and Pluto's friends join in. Chip and Dale also start singing. Pluto howls along too, which annoys the chipmunks. They put a sticker on Pluto's mouth that says "DO NOT OPEN TIL XMAS."
