Corey Burton's Career

Starting Out as a Voice Actor

Corey Burton began his voice acting journey when he was just 17 years old. He started by doing an impression of another voice actor, Hans Conried, for Disney. He learned a lot about radio acting from a famous voice actor named Daws Butler for four years. Even though he was a bit shy, he found inspiration in the amazing characters and worlds created by Disney, especially the The Haunted Mansion attraction. This helped him decide to become a voice actor.

His Work with Disney

Corey Burton has done a lot of voice work for Disney. He's voiced characters in animated movies and at popular theme parks like Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World. He's been the voice of Captain Hook since 1977! He also voiced Ludwig Von Drake starting in 1987.

He also voices other characters at Disneyland Park, like some of the pirates in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and Grumpy on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction.

Corey Burton voiced Ansem the Wise in the Kingdom Hearts video game series. He took over this role because the original actor, Christopher Lee, had health problems. Corey also re-recorded some of Christopher Lee's lines for the cinematic version of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.
