What Is the Story About?
The story begins with Donald Duck and his rich uncle, Scrooge McDuck, who haven't spoken in ten years. Donald asks Scrooge to look after his three nephews: Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The boys' love for adventure helps Scrooge rediscover his own adventurous spirit.
Scrooge then invites Donald and the boys to live with him at McDuck Manor. His kind housekeeper, Mrs. Beakley, and her adventurous granddaughter, Webby Vanderquack, also live there. Along with Scrooge's loyal pilot, Launchpad McQuack, the family goes on many exciting treasure hunts. They travel all over the world.
- Season 1: Dewey and Webby try to find out why Scrooge and Donald stopped talking. They also search for clues about the mysterious disappearance of the boys' mom, Della Duck. Meanwhile, the powerful sorceress Magica De Spell secretly works to return. She wants revenge on Scrooge for trapping her in his special Number One Dime for 15 years.
- Season 2: Scrooge and his rival, Flintheart Glomgold, compete to see who can become the richest duck. Louie tries to start his own big business, hoping to follow in Scrooge's footsteps. Della Duck finally reunites with her family after escaping from the Moon. She learns how to be a mom again, not knowing that the Moonlanders are planning to invade Earth.
- Season 3: The Ducks find a journal from a famous explorer named Isabella Finch. It describes many lost treasures and artifacts. The family starts a new adventure to find them all. But a secret criminal group called F.O.W.L. also wants these treasures. They will do anything to stop the Ducks.

How Was the Show Made?
Matt Youngberg and Francisco Angones loved the original DuckTales show when they were kids. They wanted to create a new version for today's generation. Youngberg hoped that kids watching their show would want to bring back DuckTales again in the future.
The new voice cast for the show was announced in December 2016. They even sang the original theme song without music to celebrate! In May 2017, Lin-Manuel Miranda joined the cast as Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera / Gizmoduck. This character was made Latino because of Lin-Manuel's background. The creators felt it was important to have more positive Latino superheroes.
Later, more cast members were announced, including Tony Anselmo who returned to voice Donald Duck. At the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, Disney also shared that Darkwing Duck would appear in the series.
The show's art style is inspired by Carl Barks' original Uncle Scrooge comics. The famous theme song from the 1987 series was re-recorded for the new show. It was sung by Felicia Barton.
Donald Duck has a much bigger role in this new version. In the 1980s, Disney rules limited how much Donald could appear. These rules were changed after the first DuckTales ended, allowing Donald to be a main character.
