Paget Valerie Brewster (born March 10, 1969) is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles in TV shows and movies. Many people first noticed her when she played Kathy in the popular TV show Friends. Later, she became even more famous for playing Emily Prentiss, an FBI agent, in the crime drama series Criminal Minds. She was a main character on Criminal Minds for many years, from 2006 to 2012, and then returned to the show in 2016.

Early Life and Acting Start

Paget Brewster was born in Concord, Massachusetts. Her parents, Hathaway and Galen Brewster, both worked as school administrators.

Paget grew up in Massachusetts. She later moved to New York City to study design at Parsons School of Design. However, she soon started acting and decided to leave design school to focus on her acting career. In the mid-1990s, she moved to San Francisco and took more acting classes.

Acting Career Highlights

In 1995, Paget hosted her own late-night talk show called The Paget Show. It aired for 65 episodes in the San Francisco Bay Area.

She became more widely known for her role as Kathy in the fourth season of the TV show Friends. She also appeared in other TV shows like Andy Richter Controls the Universe and Huff. In movies, she played Ms. Indestructible in the superhero comedy The Specials (2000). She also starred as Amy Pierson in the independent film The Big Bad Swim (2006).

Voice Acting Work

Paget Brewster is also a talented voice actress. In 2005, she began voicing the character Judy Ken Sebben / Birdgirl in the animated series Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. She has also lent her voice to many other animated shows, including American Dad!, Duck Dodgers, and King of the Hill. From 2018 to 2021, she was a main voice actor for Della Duck in the animated series DuckTales.

Paget Brewster is perhaps best known for her long-running role as Emily Prentiss in the crime drama Criminal Minds. Her character was a multilingual FBI agent. She was a main cast member from 2006 to 2012.

She left the show for a while to try more comedy roles. However, due to many requests from fans, she returned for guest appearances in 2014 and 2016. In 2016, she came back as a regular cast member and has been on the show ever since.

Paget Brewster enjoys volunteering. She has worked as an actress with the Los Angeles Young Storytellers Program. This program helps young people develop their writing skills.

On March 17, 2013, Paget got engaged to Steve Damstra. He is a musician. They were married on November 28, 2014, in Los Angeles. Their close friend and Criminal Minds co-star, Matthew Gray Gubler, officiated their wedding. The couple lives in Los Angeles.
