Beck Bennett (born October 1, 1984) is an American actor and comedian. He is well-known for his time on the TV show Saturday Night Live (SNL). He was a cast member for eight seasons, from 2013 to 2021. Before SNL, he was famous for his funny commercials for AT&T. In these ads, he interviewed children. He also made comedy videos with his group called Good Neighbor.

Early Life and Education

Beck Bennett was born in Wilmette, Illinois. His parents are Sarah and Andy Bennett. When he was young, he acted in many plays at the Children's Theatre of Winnetka. He went to New Trier High School and finished in 2003. There, he played the main character, Jean Valjean, in the musical Les Misérables. After high school, Beck studied acting at the USC School of Dramatic Arts. He earned a special degree in Fine Arts.

Comedy and Acting Career

In 2003, Beck Bennett joined a comedy group called Commedus Interruptus. His future SNL friend, Kyle Mooney, was also in this group. After college in 2007, Beck, Kyle, and another friend, Nick Rutherford, started a new comedy group. They called it Good Neighbor. A director named Dave McCary joined them to help with editing.

The group became quite popular. Even famous comedian Louis C.K. and director Steven Spielberg liked their work. Spielberg was very impressed by their funny video called Unbelievable Dinner. It was a parody of the movie Hook. He sent them a personal message, telling them to keep making funny movies.

In 2011, Beck created a funny political talk show called Fresh Perspectives. This show helped him get his famous AT&T commercials. In these ads, he would interview children, and they were very popular. He also hosted a YouTube show called Theatre of Life.

Beck has acted in several movies. In 2012, he was in Kill Me Now and Beside Still Waters. In 2014, he appeared in Balls Out. He also had a small role in Arrested Development in 2013.

Beck is also a talented voice actor. From 2017 to 2021, he was the voice of Launchpad McQuack in the cartoon DuckTales. He also voiced Eric in the movie The Mitchells vs. the Machines. Currently, he voices Hamster in the Disney Channel cartoon Hamster & Gretel. He will also voice Sterling in an upcoming movie called Fixed. Since 2023, you can hear his voice as Hank the Buffalo in Buffalo Wild Wings commercials. In 2025, Beck will play Steve Lombard in the new Superman movie.

Saturday Night Live

Beck Bennett first appeared on Saturday Night Live (SNL) in September 2013. He started as a "featured player." This means he was a newer cast member. By October 2015, he became a "repertory player." This is a main cast member role. He was on SNL for eight seasons. His last show was in May 2021. Beck shared in an interview that he left SNL to be with his wife in Los Angeles.

Personal Life

Beck Bennett is married to Jessy Hodges. They celebrated five years together in 2016 and got married on August 25, 2018. In March 2022, Jessy shared that they had welcomed a son. Beck has been good friends with his fellow SNL cast member Kyle Mooney since they were in college together.
