Benjamin Joseph Schwartz (born September 15, 1981) is an American actor and comedian. You might know him as the voice of famous characters like Sonic the Hedgehog in the movies, Dewey Duck in the new DuckTales series, and Leonardo in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Schwartz is also known for his live-action roles. He played the funny character Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on the TV show Parks and Recreation and was a main character in the series House of Lies. He has also appeared in many movies, including Flora & Ulysses and The Walk. On television, he starred in the comedy shows Space Force and The Afterparty.

Early Life
Ben Schwartz was born on September 15, 1981, in The Bronx, a part of New York City. His parents were also from The Bronx. His father worked as a social worker and later in real estate, and his mother was a music teacher. He has a sister named Marni.
When he was 11, his family moved to Edgemont, New York. In high school, Schwartz played basketball and was in the school chorus. After graduating in 1999, he went to Union College. He studied psychology and anthropology and graduated in 2003.
Career
Ben Schwartz has had a busy career in television, movies, and comedy. He is very skilled at improv, which is a type of comedy where performers make up scenes on the spot.
Television and Voice Acting
One of Schwartz's most famous TV roles was Jean-Ralphio Saperstein in the comedy Parks and Recreation. He was also a main character, Clyde Oberholt, in the series House of Lies.
Many people know Schwartz for his voice work in cartoons. He was the voice of Randy Cunningham in Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja. He also voiced Dewey, one of the three duck brothers, in the Disney series DuckTales. From 2018 to 2020, he was the voice of Leonardo in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
He has also appeared in other shows like Space Force and the mystery-comedy The Afterparty.
Movie Roles
Schwartz's biggest movie role is voicing the super-fast hero Sonic the Hedgehog in the live-action movies. He has played Sonic in Sonic the Hedgehog (2020), Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022), and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024). He also voiced the character in the TV series Knuckles.
He had a very interesting role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He worked as a "vocal consultant" for the droid BB-8, helping to create the beeps and boops that make up the character's personality. He also had a small role as a Stormtrooper in the movie.

Writing and Comedy
Besides acting, Schwartz is also a talented writer. He has written for TV shows like Robot Chicken and Saturday Night Live. In 2009, he won an Emmy Award for helping to write the opening song for the 81st Academy Awards, which was performed by Hugh Jackman.
He performs improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCBT). He was part of an improv group called "Hot Sauce" with other comedians. He and fellow comedian Thomas Middleditch also starred in a Netflix special called Middleditch and Schwartz, where they performed long improv shows.
