Danny Pudi (born Daniel Mark Pudi on March 10, 1979) is an American actor and director. He is best known for playing Abed Nadir in the TV show Community. This role earned him several award nominations. Since 2020, he has also starred as Brad Bakshi in the Apple TV+ series Mythic Quest. Many kids know his voice as Huey Duck from the 2017 reboot of DuckTales.

Danny Pudi's Early Life and Education
Danny Pudi was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 10, 1979. His mother came from Poland, and his father was from India. Both of his parents moved to the U.S. and became citizens. Danny grew up speaking Polish with his mother and grandmother.
He lived on the South Side of Chicago with his brother Adam and sister Katherine. He went to Notre Dame College Prep in Niles. In 2013, he gave a speech to the graduating class at his old high school.
Danny Pudi loved dance and studied it in Chicago. He later went to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated in 2001 with a degree in communication and theater. At Marquette, he won the first Chris Farley Scholarship. This scholarship helped him pay for school. It also led him to perform in an improv comedy show. This made him even more interested in improv. After college, he performed in plays and studied at The Second City in Chicago. He also joined Stir Friday Night!, a comedy group for Asian American performers.
Danny Pudi's Acting Career
Before becoming a full-time actor, Danny Pudi worked as a recruiter. In 2005, he moved to Los Angeles to find roles in TV and movies. His job allowed him to work from home, which meant he could go to auditions. This helped him avoid the usual struggles of new actors, like waiting tables. He appeared in several TV show tryouts before joining the cast of Community. He starred in this popular show for six seasons, from 2009 to 2015.
Danny Pudi has also appeared in many TV commercials. He has been in ads for popular brands like Snickers and McDonald's. In 2012, he was a contestant on the game show The Pyramid. He played alongside his Community co-star, Yvette Nicole Brown.
In movies, Danny Pudi played Arash in the comedy film Road Trip: Beer Pong. He also starred in the comedy horror film Knights of Badassdom. This movie was a big hit at Comic Con in 2011. He has made small appearances, called cameos, in many online videos. He also had cameos in big movies like Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Star Trek Beyond.
In 2014, Danny Pudi performed in an off-Broadway musical called FOUND. He played the main character, Sami Malik, in the independent film The Tiger Hunter in 2016. This movie was funded by a Kickstarter campaign. In 2017, he started voicing Huey Duck in the new DuckTales cartoon. He also played Teddy in the NBC sitcom Powerless that same year.
Since February 2020, Danny Pudi has played Brad Bakshi in the TV series Mythic Quest. In 2020, he created his first play, called Running. This play explored his relationship with his father. It also looked at how his background and experiences with racism affected his life and career. The play was later made into a short film in 2022.
He worked again with his Community co-star Alison Brie in the 2023 film Somebody I Used to Know. In 2024, Danny Pudi took on the role of The Mechanist in the live-action Netflix show Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Danny Pudi's Personal Life
Danny Pudi is married to Bridget Showalter. They met when they were both students at Marquette University. They have twins, a son and a daughter, who were born in January 2012. Danny Pudi also enjoys running and has completed several marathons. In 2014, he bought a house in Pasadena, California.
