Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil is an American computer-animated comedy film from 2011. It is the sequel to the 2005 movie Hoodwinked!. Mike Disa directed this film, which was released on April 29, 2011, by The Weinstein Company.

The story was written by Mike Disa, Cory Edwards, Todd Edwards, and Tony Leech. Many of the original actors returned to voice their characters. However, Hayden Panettiere took over the role of Red from Anne Hathaway. Martin Short replaced Jim Belushi as well.

In this adventure, Red (Hayden Panettiere) is training with a secret group called the Sisters of the Hood. She must team up with Wolf (Patrick Warburton) to save Hansel and Gretel (Bill Hader and Amy Poehler). They also need to rescue Granny (Glenn Close) from the evil witch, Verushka (Joan Cusack). The movie did not make a lot of money compared to its cost.

What Is the Movie About?

The movie starts with Wolf (Patrick Warburton), Granny (Glenn Close), and Twitchy (Cory Edwards) on a rescue mission. They are trying to save Hansel and Gretel (Bill Hader and Amy Poehler) from a wicked witch named Verushka (Joan Cusack). But their plan goes wrong, and Granny gets captured too!

Meanwhile, Red (Hayden Panettiere) is learning special skills with the Sisters of the Hood. She finds out that a super powerful truffle recipe has been stolen. Detective Nicky Flippers (David Ogden Stiers) gives Red a mission. She must work with Wolf and Twitchy to find the recipe and save her grandma.

Searching for Clues

Red and her friends go to the Giant's (Brad Garrett) nightclub to get information. They learn that Boingo the Bunny (Andy Dick), who is in prison, has been sending ingredients to Verushka. Verushka was also at the prison and almost got caught by the team. Red and Wolf argue about how Verushka escaped, and the team splits up.

Meanwhile, Verushka, who stole the truffle recipe, tries to make Granny bake it for her. Granny manages to escape and finds Hansel and Gretel. But she soon learns that Hansel and Gretel are actually the real villains behind the whole plan! Granny gets captured again. She also finds out that Verushka was an old classmate from her time with the Sisters of the Hood. Verushka was always jealous of Granny and teamed up with Hansel and Gretel for revenge.

The Team Reunites

After some convincing from Twitchy, Wolf decides to apologize to Red. But he runs into The Three Pigs (Cheech Marin, Tommy Chong, and Phil LaMarr). These pigs are now mercenaries hired by Hansel and Gretel. Wolf barely escapes them.

Wolf and Twitchy make it back to their headquarters. They find it empty and damaged by Hansel and Gretel’s pig henchmen. On their way to the witch's hideout, Wolf and Twitchy rescue Red. She had tried to sneak in by herself and got caught. Red and Wolf make up and work together. They sneak into Hansel and Gretel's base with help from Kirk the Woodsman (Martin Short) and his yodeling group. Red accidentally reveals the last ingredient for the truffle recipe: macadamia nuts. With this, the powerful truffles are finally made.

The Final Showdown

Hansel and Gretel eat the truffles and turn into huge giants! They start causing chaos in the city. They even betray Verushka, leaving her to be eaten by a giant spider. Granny convinces Verushka to join forces with her, Red, Wolf, and Twitchy.

They trick Hansel and Gretel into eating more truffles. This makes them so big and heavy that they can't move their arms or legs. Hansel and Gretel are then arrested. At the end, Nicky recruits the team for another exciting mission!

Video Game Fun

A fun adventure game called Red's Escape was made for the iPhone and iPad. It features characters from the movie, especially Red. In the game, Red has to climb a witch's tower, avoiding enemies and collecting points. She uses her special belt like a grappling hook to swing and reach new heights. Along the way, she faces challenges like piggies with guns, sharp spikes, and the crazy witch. Gretel, who is a big, pastry-fueled giant, also chases Red, trying to stop her.
