Joan Mary Cusack (born October 11, 1962) is an American actress. She is known for her funny roles in movies and TV shows. She was nominated for an Academy Award (also known as an Oscar) twice. These nominations were for her roles in Working Girl (1988) and In & Out (1997).
You might know her voice as Jessie from the Toy Story movies (starting in 1999). She won an Annie Award for her voice work as Jessie. She also voiced Abby Mallard in Chicken Little (2005).
Joan Cusack has starred in many other popular films. These include Addams Family Values (1993), Nine Months (1995), School of Rock (2003), and Kit Kittredge: An American Girl (2008). She was also a cast member on the comedy show Saturday Night Live from 1985 to 1986.

Joan Cusack was born in New York City on October 11, 1962. She grew up in Evanston, Illinois. Her mother, Ann Paula "Nancy" Cusack, was a math teacher. Her father, Dick Cusack, was an actor and filmmaker.
Joan has four siblings. Two of them, Ann (born 1961) and John (born 1966), are also actors. Her family is Irish American and Catholic. Joan went to the University of Wisconsin–Madison and graduated in 1984.

Joan Cusack married attorney Richard Burke in 1996. They have two sons named Dylan John and Miles. She found out she was pregnant with her first child on the first day of filming the movie Mr. Wrong (1996).
Joan Cusack owns a home in Three Oaks Township, Michigan. She also lives in Chicago, Illinois. Since 2011, she has owned a gift shop in Old Town, Chicago called Judy Maxwell Home. The shop is named after a character from What's Up Doc?, which is Joan's favorite movie.
