Brad H. Gerstenfeld (born April 14, 1960), known as Brad Garrett, is an American actor and stand-up comedian. He first became famous for his stand-up comedy in the early 1980s. Later, he started acting in TV shows and movies.
One of his most famous roles was Robert Barone on the TV show Everybody Loves Raymond. This show started in 1996 and ran for nine seasons. Brad Garrett also played Jackie Gleason in a TV movie called Gleason in 2002. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for this role.
He also starred as Eddie Stark in the sitcom 'Til Death from 2006 to 2010. From 2018 to 2020, he was in the show Single Parents. In 2021, Brad Garrett helped create the Disney+ show Big Shot. He is also well-known for his voice acting, especially as the Big Dog on 2 Stupid Dogs. He has lent his voice to many animated films like A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, Tangled, Planes, and Christopher Robin.
Brad Garrett has won three Primetime Emmy Awards for his acting. He still performs stand-up comedy. He even owns his own comedy club in Las Vegas called Brad Garrett's Comedy Club.

Brad Garrett's Early Life
Brad H. Gerstenfeld was born on April 14, 1960. His parents were Barbara and Alvin "Al" Gerstenfeld. He grew up in Oxnard, California. Brad Garrett has two brothers, Jeff and Paul. He went to George Ellery Hale Middle School. He then graduated from El Camino Real High School in Los Angeles. He briefly attended UCLA but left to focus on his comedy career.
Brad Garrett's Comedy Career
Brad Garrett started his comedy journey in the early 1980s. He performed at famous comedy clubs in Los Angeles. These included The Improv in Hollywood. In 1984, he won a big comedy competition on the TV show Star Search. He was the first person to win $100,000 in the comedy category.
This win led to his first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. He was only 23 years old, making him one of the youngest comedians to perform on the show. After this, he gained national attention. He began opening for famous performers like Diana Ross and Liza Minnelli. He also performed in Las Vegas for stars such as Frank Sinatra and David Copperfield.
Brad Garrett's Television Roles
After his success in stand-up, Brad Garrett started acting on TV. From 1985 to 1986, he was the voice of Hulk Hogan in the cartoon Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n Wrestling. He also appeared on game shows like Family Feud and Super Password.
He had a small part in the TV show Roseanne. Then, he got the role of Robert Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond. In 2005, Brad Garrett acted on Broadway in the play The Odd Couple. He played Murray the Cop. That same year, he was in the movie The Pacifier with Vin Diesel. In 2006, he started starring in a new sitcom called 'Til Death on Fox. He played Eddie Stark, a husband in a long marriage.
In 2008, Brad Garrett hosted a comedy roast for Cheech & Chong on TBS. He also appeared in commercials for 7-Up. In June 2010, he opened Brad Garrett's Comedy Club in Las Vegas. He later moved the club to the MGM Grand in 2011, where it is still active.
In 2011, a children's TV series called I Kid with Brad Garrett premiered on TLC. In 2013, he voiced Chug in the movie Planes. In 2016, he voiced Krang in the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
In November 2016, he played Frankenstein's monster in an Apple iPhone 7 commercial. In 2018, Brad Garrett voiced Eeyore in the live-action movie Christopher Robin. He also had a cameo as Eeyore in Ralph Breaks the Internet. Since 2021, he has appeared in commercials for Jimmy John's.
When asked about bringing back Everybody Loves Raymond, he said it would not be the same without the actors who played the parents. He felt they could not recreate the original show's magic.
Brad Garrett's Personal Life
In 1998, Brad Garrett asked his girlfriend, Jill Diven, to marry him. They got married on May 18, 1999. They have two children, a son and a daughter. They separated in 2005 and their divorce was finalized in 2007.
In 2008, he started dating actress IsaBeall Quella. They met at an art gallery in Boston. They got engaged in December 2015 and were married on November 11, 2021.
