What's the Story About?
This game starts with our heroes, Sora, Donald, and Goofy, arriving at a mysterious place called Castle Oblivion. Inside, they find copies of all the worlds they've visited before.
Journey Through Memories
As they go up through the castle's different floors, something strange happens. Sora and his friends start to lose their memories! New memories begin to replace the old ones. For example, Sora forgets his friend Kairi, and a new girl named Naminé appears in his mind instead.
Facing Organization XIII
During their journey, Sora meets a mysterious group called Organization XIII. These bad guys built Castle Oblivion to mess with Sora's memories. Their goal was to trick him into joining their side.
A Difficult Choice
Eventually, Naminé tells Sora that she was the one who changed his memories. She gives him a very tough choice: he can either keep his new memories or have his old ones brought back. If he chooses his old memories, he will forget everything that happened in Castle Oblivion.
Sora decides he wants his original memories back. He tells Naminé that he could never truly forget her. To fix his memories, Naminé puts him to sleep. It will take about a year for her to restore everything.
Riku's Adventure
After you finish Sora's story, you get to play as Riku! Riku travels through the lower, basement levels of Castle Oblivion. He also meets members of Organization XIII, just like Sora did. Riku remembers his past actions and works hard to fight against a dark power called Ansem.
