Snidely Whiplash is a funny bad guy from the old cartoon show The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. He first appeared in the "Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties" parts of the show. Snidely is the main enemy of Dudley Do-Right, a brave Mountie. Many people think Snidely is one of the best cartoon villains ever.

Who is Snidely Whiplash?

Snidely Whiplash acts like a classic bad guy from old silent movies. He always wears black clothes and a tall top hat. He also has a big, curly handlebar moustache. His main goal is usually to cause trouble for Dudley Do-Right.

Snidely often has a helper named Homer. Homer usually wears a tuque, which is a warm knitted hat. In the cartoon's opening, you can often see Snidely tying Nell Fenwick to a railroad track. This shows how much of a typical villain he is.

Snidely's Personality

Snidely is the complete opposite of Dudley Do-Right. Dudley is always good and tries to do the right thing. Snidely, on the other hand, is sneaky and loves to cause problems. He enjoys being evil and often tries to trick people.

Sometimes, things get mixed up in the cartoons. In one episode, Snidely and Dudley even swapped hats! When this happened, Dudley became a successful criminal. Snidely, surprisingly, became a hero for catching the "evil" Dudley.

Voice Actors and Movie Role

The first person to give Snidely Whiplash his voice was Hans Conried. He voiced the character in the original cartoon series from 1959 to 1982. Later, Corey Burton took over the voice role for Snidely.

In 1999, a real-life movie called Dudley Do-Right was made. In this movie, the famous actor Alfred Molina played Snidely Whiplash.
