Star Wars: The Clone Wars is an American computer-animated TV show. It was created by George Lucas, who also created the Star Wars movies. The series was made by Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm Animation.

The show takes place between Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. It shows what happened during the big war known as the Clone Wars. The show became very popular around the world. It first aired on Cartoon Network and later on Netflix.

What the Show is About

The story of The Clone Wars begins as a huge war breaks out across the galaxy. This war is called the Clone Wars. The brave Jedi Knights try to keep peace in the galaxy. But they are forced to lead the Clone Army of the Republic.

They fight against the evil droid army of the Sith. The main villains leading the droid army are Count Dooku and General Grievous. Many other villains also appear throughout the series.

How the Show Was Made

The idea for The Clone Wars TV show came from a shorter 2D cartoon series. This new show was made using 3D computer animation. George Lucas was the executive producer. He wanted to create a series that explored the Clone Wars in more detail.

George Lucas originally planned for the show to have 100 episodes. These episodes would be divided into five seasons.

Episodes and Seasons

Lucasfilm first produced 100 episodes for five seasons. However, Dave Filoni, a supervising director, later confirmed there would be a sixth season. This sixth season came out in early 2014 on Netflix. It had 11 new episodes.

Even after the sixth season, some stories and episodes were not finished. These unfinished stories were later shared with fans. Some were released as rough animated reels online. Others were turned into comic books and novels. This collection of unfinished stories is known as "The Clone Wars Legacy."
