Disney's House of Mouse (or simply House of Mouse) is a fun animated TV show from America. It was made by Walt Disney Television Animation. The show ran for three seasons, from January 13, 2001, to October 24, 2003.
The series is all about Mickey Mouse and his pals. They run a special dinner club in a place called ToonTown. This club is like a theater where they show cartoons. Lots of famous Disney characters come to watch! The show features many different cartoon shorts. In total, 52 episodes were made. The name "House of Mouse" is a common nickname for Walt Disney Company.
This animated series is a spin-off from another Disney show called Mickey Mouse Works. House of Mouse showed many of the shorts from Mickey Mouse Works. It also included brand new cartoons. Sometimes, even classic Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck cartoons from the 1930s to 1950s were shown. This happened more often towards the end of the series.
During its time, House of Mouse was nominated for two awards. Some of the voice actors even won two awards for their amazing performances! The series also had two special movies: Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse and Mickey's House of Villains. There was even an all-night marathon of the show on Toon Disney in September 2002. It was called "Night of 1,000 Toons."

Welcome to the House of Mouse!

The main idea of the show is that Mickey Mouse and his friends run a dinner theater club. It's located in the middle of ToonTown. This club is very popular with everyone who lives there. Many characters from Disney animated movies and cartoons visit the club. Almost every character from Walt Disney Animation Studios appears in the episodes. The only exceptions are characters made after 2001–2003, like Lilo & Stitch or Dinosaur.
Most characters appear as guests who come to enjoy the show. Some characters even perform on stage! The show is special because it includes many Disney characters that are not often seen. Some of them even speak for the first time! For example, Li'l Bad Wolf and April, May and June appeared in House of Mouse. They were often in Disney comic books but never in a cartoon before. A few characters from other TV cartoons or theme park rides also made quick appearances.
What Happens in Each Episode?
Each episode tells a story about Mickey and his team. They often face a problem while running the club. They have to work together to solve it. The most common problem is Pete. He is always trying to shut down the club for his own benefit. His plans usually cause funny mishaps. These stories act like a frame for the cartoon shorts shown in between scenes. The main story's theme often connects to the cartoon shorts.
The cartoon shorts themselves are simple stories. They are like the classic cartoons from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. Most of them were reruns from Mickey Mouse Works. Some shorts had a specific theme for a character. For example, one set of shorts showed Mickey trying to save Minnie from Pete. Each short had a different obstacle. Another set focused on Pluto trying to get Mickey his newspaper, facing a new challenge each time.
