Wayne Allwine (born February 7, 1947, died May 18, 2009) was an American voice actor. He was most famous for being the third official voice of Mickey Mouse. He voiced Mickey for 32 years, which is longer than anyone else! He was also married to Russi Taylor, who was the voice of Minnie Mouse.

Early Life of Wayne Allwine
Wayne Allwine was born in Glendale, California, on February 7, 1947. He went to John Burroughs High School and acted in many school plays. His father was a singer in a barbershop quartet.
Wayne also played rhythm guitar and even started his own music group called the International Singers. They performed in many clubs and colleges. He also played drums in a Dixieland jazz band sometimes.
Wayne Allwine's Career at Disney
In 1966, Wayne started working at Disney studios in the mail room. Later, he moved to the sound effects department, working with Jimmy MacDonald.
After working with sound effects for seven years, Wayne got a call from Disney in late 1976. They needed someone to audition for the voice of Mickey Mouse. Wayne tried out and became the third official voice of Mickey Mouse in 1977. He took over from Jimmy MacDonald, who had voiced Mickey since 1947. Before that, Walt Disney himself had been Mickey's voice since 1928!
Wayne's first time voicing Mickey was for the animated introductions of The New Mickey Mouse Club in 1977. His first time voicing Mickey in a movie was in the 1983 film Mickey's Christmas Carol. In that movie, he also voiced a Santa Claus, a mole named Moley, and one of the weasel undertakers.
He also voiced Mickey in many other popular films. These include The Great Mouse Detective (1986), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), and Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers (2004). He also voiced Mickey in TV shows like Mickey Mouse Works (1999–2000) and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (2006–2012).
Wayne also voiced Mickey in the popular Kingdom Hearts video game series. This series was made with a Japanese video game company called Square Enix. The game Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days was the last game to use his voice. When it was released, it included a special message to remember him.
Besides voice acting, Wayne was also a sound effects editor for Disney movies. Some of these were Splash (1984) and Three Men and a Baby (1987). He also worked on films for other studios, like Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.
Wayne Allwine's Personal Life
In 1991, Wayne married Russi Taylor. She was the voice of Minnie Mouse from 1986 until 2019. In 2008, both Wayne and Russi were named Disney Legends. They were married until Wayne passed away in 2009. Wayne also had four children from earlier marriages and a grandson.
Wayne Allwine's Passing
Wayne Allwine passed away on May 18, 2009, at the age of 62. He died in Los Angeles due to health problems related to diabetes. His understudy, Bret Iwan, then became the new voice of Mickey Mouse. Wayne is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
