The Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) is a special group for people who are experts at editing sound for movies and TV shows. It was started in 1953 in the United States. The main goals of MPSE are to teach others about sound and music editing. They also want to show how important good sound is in films and help their members work together better. This group is different from a union, which helps workers with their jobs and pay. When you see "MPSE" after someone's name in movie credits, it means they are a member of this important organization!

The Golden Reel Award

The Golden Reel Award is a special trophy given by the MPSE. It celebrates the best sound editing in movies, TV shows, and other entertainment. The current design for this award was first used on March 31, 1984. It was created by Pat and Ken Anderson of the Anderson Trophy Company. The actual award statues are made by a company in New York called Society Awards.
