List of acts of the Parliament of Great Britain from 1709 facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

This is a list of important laws, called acts, that were passed by the Parliament of Great Britain in the year 1709. These laws helped shape how Great Britain was run during the reign of Queen Anne.

To understand these acts, it helps to know how they were named back then. Each act has a special number, like a chapter in a book. For example, an act might be called "8 Ann. c. 1", which means it was the first law (chapter 1) passed in the 8th year of Queen Anne's reign.

Before 1793, a new law was considered to be in effect from the very first day of the Parliament session it was passed in, even if it was actually approved much later. This means some dates you see might be from the year before the law was officially signed.
