The leader of a state in Nigeria is called a Governor. This article tells you about the people who have led Delta State since it was formed.

What is a Governor?

A Governor is the main leader of a state. They are like the president of a small country, but only for their state. Governors are in charge of making sure the state runs well. They work on things like schools, hospitals, roads, and keeping people safe. They are elected by the people of the state to serve for a certain time.

Sometimes, when a country is under military rule, the states are led by people called "Administrators." These administrators are usually military officers. They are not elected by the people.

Leaders of Delta State

Since Delta State was created, it has had different leaders. Some were military administrators, and others were elected civilian governors.
