Welcome to Moorestown! This town in New Jersey became an official township on March 11, 1922. It has a special way of running its local government. This system is called the Council-Manager plan. It helps make sure the town runs smoothly every day.
Moorestown's government has a Town Council with five members. These members are chosen by the people in elections. They serve for four years. Every January, after an election, the Council members get together. They pick one of themselves to be the Mayor. They also choose another member to be the Deputy Mayor. The Mayor is like the leader of the Town Council. They help guide the town and make important decisions.
