Historic Places in Norfolk

Many parts of Norfolk, including its neighborhoods, buildings, and famous spots, are important because of their history. A historic district is a special area that is protected because it has many old buildings or places that tell a story about the past.

Norfolk has four historic districts that are recognized by the city itself. These are Ghent, Downtown, West Freemason, East Freemason, and the Hodges House (which is a single historic building).
