Little Anthony and the Imperials was a popular African-American vocal group. They became famous in the 1950s and 1960s. The main singer of the group was "Little Anthony" Gourdine.
The group started by singing doo-wop music. Doo-wop is a style of music that uses lots of vocal harmonies. Later, they changed their musical style as new trends became popular.

Little Anthony and the Imperials had many hit songs. These songs were very popular on the radio. Some of their most famous songs include "Tears On My Pillow" and "Shimmy, Shimmy, Ko-Ko Bop."
Other big hits were "I'm On The Outside (Looking In)" and "Goin' Out Of My Head." They also had a hit song called "Hurt So Bad." A person named Teddy Randazzo helped create many of these songs. He was a record producer and also helped write the music.
