Discovering Lladó's Past
The first official mention of Lladó was in the year 977. This happened when a Count and Bishop named Miró gave some vineyards and land to the Sant Pere de Rodes monastery. This document helps us understand the early history of the area.
In 1089, the religious life at the Santa Maria de Lladó church was brought back. From that time on, the village of Lladó began to grow and develop around this important church. The church became the center of daily life for the people living there.
